Ichchhadevi Mandir-Tathastu
Goddess Ichchha. A fair is organized twice a year during Navratri. Thousands of worshipers come here to offer prayers to Goddess Ichchha. The temple Ichchhadevi situated in Ichchhapur Village is 23 Kms. from Burhanpur. It finds a mention in Tapti Mahatamya a book on the holy river Tapti in which it is mentioned that a Brahmin by the name of Devidas meditated to seek Goddess Ichchha’s blessing. The goddess, impressed with his devotion appeared to bless him, after which the village came to be known as Ichchhapur. The temple is said to have been built by a Maratha commander who prayed to the goddess for a son. After his wish was fulfilled, he ordered the construction of a temple for Goddess Ichchha. A fair is organized twice a year during Navratri .Thousands of worshipers come here to offer prayers to Goddess Ichchha .
