Dargah-E-Hakimi-Pure, Pristine and Epitome of beauty
Dargah-E-Hakimi is as pure and pristine as it is beautiful. It is the pilgrim place of great significance for the Bohra community. It is said that offerings at Mecca Madina, Kaaba and Karbala are futile if a person has not offered prayers at Dargah-E-Hakimi. Sayyedi Abdul Qadir Hakimuddin, the holy Bohra Saint was buried here which makes it mandatory for even the Bohra religious guru to undertake this pilgrimage at least once. Worshipers from all communities believed in the miraculous powers of Hakim Sahab and visited him from all over. People came with their woes but returned happy and content. As the word hakim denotes a healer, thousands of Bohras flock to this shrine with a mannat (vow) and in search of shifa (cure) for their disease. It is said that a few days after the death of Syedi Abdul Qadir Hakimuddin, Aurangzeb exhumed his body after a few days to disrespect the legendary hakim. He was then shocked to see his fresh and fragrant body; no rot or decay, just a glow. This made him believe that Hakim sahab was indeed God’s messenger and he immediately initiated to dig another grave nearby to bury the sacred body of Hakim sahab respectfully, which is the present day Dargah-E-Hakiml. The holy graves of two religious Bohra saints-Sayyedi Sheikh Jeevan Ji Sahab and Abdul Tayab Jakiudin are also here, which are made of sparkling white marble. Spread over an area of 125 acres, the Dargah-E-Hakimi looks more like a five-star resort than a place of religious significance: lush green lawns, well laid out gardens, fine accommodation. quality food, regular upkeep add to the comfort of pilgrims and tourists.A remarkable thing about the place is that a separate time is marked for Muslims, Hindus and Christians to offer prayers at this holy shrine.
